Topic: Why more people should exercise.
Ethos- Exercise has so many positive effects on your body
that it is obviously something you would want to do. Exercising on a daily
basis can build strong muscles and strengthens your heart so your entire immune
system can fight off disease better. Daily activity can also give you energy
throughout the entire day. So with exercise you will be energized and able to
go through and entire day. Stress can be relieved and you will receive better
brain function also. If you do exercise, encourage a family member or friend to
do it to. If more people in America are exercise we can become a country that
is healthy, has less heart related disease, and can live longer lives.
Shouldn’t we have more people exercising so we can all enjoy the benefits it
gives us? Together we can change the stereotype of all Americans are fat and
lazy.
Logos- Studies link sedentary life styles to 23% to deaths
of major chronic diseases. The less activity you engage in results in an
increased susceptibility of heart disease. The more activity you do, the less
likely you are to attain heart disease, high colon cancer, diabetes, and high
blood pressure. People who are more active out live people who engage in very
limited activity at all on average. From 2000 to 2004 Medicare went from
spending $10.4 billion to $12.7 billion on diabetes treatment. If America lives
more active life styles our health care will have to spend less money on
problems such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes leaving more money for
other problems.
Pathos- If you want to exercise you don’t have to make it
boring by just working out alone all the time. You can make it however much fun
you want it to be. You can get a workout partner to exercise with you. There
are countless activities such as walking, running, playing a sport, cycling, or
swimming that can be done. Select the one that is most interesting and fun for
you so you will want to do it. With two people exercising you can motivate each
other to do better so you’ll have a higher chance of reaching a possible health
goal. It doesn’t have to be just two people though. It can be an entire group
of friends or family. Imagine how fun it could be with you and your best
friends, racing, playing football or baseball, swimming, or playing basketball
outside on a beautiful day. You could be having the time of your life while
getting the exercise requirements your body needs. So go out and play and have
fun on a great day.
